The current owner of 1830 E. La Salle Rd (subject property) and one other neighbor subsidize the active well which is located on their (1830 E. La Salle) property. Three (3) residences can be serviced by the existing well, however the immediate next-door neighbor to the north has chosen not to participate with the other two owners and instead acquires hauled water from a water delivery company. This is also an option for the subject property.
The seller and the other participating owner mostly haul the water themselves. By these owners getting the water, they are saving on the water hauling company's delivery charge. They share in the ownership of a 1000 gallon hauling tank that sits on a trailer on the subject property adjacent to the well. When the holding tank looks low one of these two owners will drive 4-5 miles down the road and load the hauling tank on the trailer and return to deposit the water into the 2500 gallon underground galvanized holding tank on the subject property.
For a new buyer who may not want to save the money to personally haul water, they would sign up with the local water hauling company to have a sensor placed at 500 gallons. Now, when the sensor is set off, the monitoring water company is automatically notified to come make a water drop, usually next day. A Credit Card on file is charged. The monthly charge to sensor the tank is $17.95.
Each home's water usage is metered individually. At the end of the month charges are divided by percentage of usage indicated at each homeowners individual meter. Each owner also contributes $25 monthly for a common account that is then used for any repairs, tank cleaning, etc.
